Ibsen's products are based on 2 core technologies: transmission gratings and optical design.
Ibsen's fused silica transmission grating technologies allow us to provide unique gratings to a broad range of applications - from exceptionally demanding one-of-a-kind Phase masks over the most thermally and environmentally stable gratings for femtosecond laser applications, to highly repeatable spectrometer and telecom gratings produced by holographic stepper technology.
Our optical design capabilities leverage the benefits of our transmission gratings to design very compact yet high resolution OEM spectrometer designs. Our I-MON FBG Sensor System Interrogation Monitors and D-MON Optical Channel Monitors are 2 such modules under the Ibsen brand. We additionally supply OEM optical modules, where we can add value from early design through full-scale production.

- Phase masks
- Ibsen is a world leader in Phase masks, based on interferometric (holographic) patterning, RIE etching and extensive metrology - all performed in class 10 cleanroom environment. Unbeatable period accuracy and uniformity of +/- 0.01 nm is built into every Ibsen Phase mask. Our Phase masks are the ideal tool for any grating replication - be it for FBGs or planar components.
- Fused Silica Transmission gratings
- Superior performance of Ibsen holographic master gratings is combined with the reproducibility and cost level of replicated gratings. Each Ibsen grating is a holographic masterpiece - not a replica. Advanced etching technology ensures high efficiency as well as the superior thermal and environmental stability of pure fused silica gratings.
- I-MON Interrogation Monitors for FBG Sensing Systems
- Based on Ibsen Transmission Gratings and patented optical designs, our I-MONs offer real-time spectrum monitoring of Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors. Combined with compact size and straighforward integration, the I-MONs are ideal for vibration analysis or temperature, pressure or strain measurement systems.
- D-MON Optical Channel Monitors
- Based on Ibsen's high-resolution spectrometer platform, the D-MON combines Ibsen Transmission Gratings with patented optical designs to provide a very fast, compact, low power channel monitoring device. The small package includes electronics for straightforward integration.
